Naruto and Jiraiya were ahead of Sakura and the others now, arguing about Jiraiya's novels.

"That's because your books are boring!" Naruto frowned back, stopping in the middle of the trail so he could say his words even louder.

"Naruto," Jiraiya stopped and glanced behind him as Sakura and the others started to catch up before turning to give his student a look as he replied quietly. "You would think a centerfold spread of a naked 'Sakura-chan' was boring if it had too much kanji on it."

"H-Hey! I WOULD NOT! I would--" Naruto shouted, too red and embarrassed to notice Jiraiya's eyes growing wide.

The hairs on the back of Jiraiya's neck stood up on end. "OY, you shouldn't--"

"I would totally find a Sakura-chan centerfold interesting! It's just your books that are so damn borinGRAAAGH--!"

Jiraiya held perfectly still, holding every muscle motionless in sheer terror as Sakura's fist plowed Naruto's head and chest a solid half-meter into the ground.

"You PERVERT!"

The Sannin continued to hold perfectly still as the dust settled, hoping that she wouldn't figure out that it was him who had put those words in Naruto's mouth. In the end, Jiraiya lucked out, as the blow had taken Naruto's recollection of the last ten minutes with it.
