My position on that whole health care reform thing:

In under two months from now, without a job that isn't retail, I will no longer have insurance. I cannot collect unemployment because I left my last job to go back to college. I am likely not eligible for Medicaid. With this economy, even applying to at least ten jobs a week, I am not likely to get an entry level position when more experienced workers apply for it.

So I'm all for a government run alternative for those who don't have insurance if it's done right.

It's hard to pay for an individual plan when one doesn't have money because they don't have a job.

Exactly! I'm without a job currently. Still looking, but I don't think I'm going to find anything Aerospace related for a year or so. My parents won't let me get retail jobs or apply for any other type of jobs directly. I was surprised they let me apply to one temp agency.

Basically, their argument is that I won't get a real job if I have a retail job. What the fuck! I actually wanna use my education, you know? I just... need money. Badly.

I'm going to propose to Mom that i start doing some volunteering. It's a great way to network.

My sister, who has a Masters in Literature and is trying to teach college-level courses... is working at Borders. Why? Because no matter how hard she tries, she can't land a job. The market is saturated with people like her - excellent qualifications and in a lot of cases, with more experience than her. So she works at Borders to help pay bills, and looks for new jobs all the time.

I would be doing the same thing if it wasn't for the fact that I'm about to leave for Australia. I'm definitely not staying in McDonald's for the rest of my life.

*hugs* I hope you find a good solution soon, even if it might be a retail job so you can get from point a to point b. And your parents' logic is baffling.

Yeah, I'm going to have to find a job to wait out the depression and take classes on the side, then get some certifications. I'm doing that next week, actually.

Mom keeps on making me apply to like... five, six jobs a day, and I know that I can't get most of them. I really need money and something that will give me health insurance, though. And I'm not getting that.

Maybe in a few weeks, there will be more openings as people go back to school. Until then, though, I'm kinda fucked, if my parents won't let me get a job to tide this out.

Edit: Oh, and I forgot! For gallbladder stuff, it helps if you eat some sort of grain/bread before you eat vegetables. :| Otherwise, it can cause a looooot of digestive pain.
