I blame this on "Writing Fiction: A Guide to Narrative Craft" by Janet Burroway because she wouldn't stop talking about free-writing and then this piece slapped me silly. Yes, it's a Harry Potter fic. Yes, it's Pre-Philosopher's Stone. Don't ask me why it smacked me over the head like that, either, because if I knew how it did it I would've smacked it back.
