I had a dream about giant ants. =)) Go figure. I'm writing it all down before I forget. Odd how much I remember of certain dreams.

It happened in a rather awesome house, though. I think I've dreamed about this house before, because I remember some of the upper-level rooms. Regardless, it was in a different shape, and all of my cousins were there. Including the annoying ones which never listen--and that became a problem.

If I remember correctly, the dream started with the ants attacking through the front door. They were about four feet long and about 2 & 1/2 feet high. They would break through the front door, and big front window next to it, but that's all they'd try to invade. All we had to do was push them back. I was one of the spotters, I think, that told them where the ants would attack through next.

Eventually, though, we pushed them away and then we realized they wouldn't attack if they didn't see us in there anymore. So we were very quiet and stayed away from the windows. This is where we ran into trouble--a bratty ass cousin (probably Ben) wouldn't shut up and would only talk loud. I remember not treating him too terribly nicely about that--he got scared on the ladder-like stairs and I climbed down over him and he wasn't happen about that. Then I plucked him off and did some Moody-like growls at him. CONSTANT VILIGANCE, BRAT.

Eventually the other kids got restless, too, and we started seeing the ants peeking in the front windows. We don't know why they never attacked the side. For some reason or another... I think their manners dictated they could only attack from the front... and then we realized that they included one other direction. =))

Underneath. I could feel the vibrations in the bottom floor that signalled that something was digging up through the foundation. Yeah, pretty powerful ants there. So I sent everyone upstairs because I was the one who realized what it meant. But when it came through....

It was only one worker, and a lost looking one at that. The worker kept on trying to snap at me, but I'd just pull my arm out of its way and treat it nicely. I think I won it over from the petting and saying "how about we find you something to eat, huh?" Somehow... I knew the ants wouldn't attack anymore if I took care of one of their own.

Eventually the ant left, I can't exactly remember how, and then I looked out the back of the house--which oddly had the view from Grandma's backyard. I saw that ant and what looked like a soldier ant coming towards us. Turns out, though, that the soldier ant was actually a camera-bot with tank treads, oddly enough. Turns out that a reporter (who looked like an Indiana Jones type) was going to do a story on us, and the ant had followed him back. I lead him in through the front (of the townhouse, but my grandparents really own a house of their own, and it was pretty damn big and oddly formed inside for a townhouse, anyways) and he asked if we were the family whose name was on the window of the other other front door (I think this was after an extension to it? I don't know). I said that no, and was about to say that was probably the old owners when the old couple whose last name that was walked out of their half of the house. It was in a garage-like area, but far cooler. Like a room out of a scene from a sci-fi "1900s-area" type of workshop.

So the ant followed up in and the camera bot folded up to reveal that it was a robot. I remember nodding to it and it nodded back. So obviously artificial intelligence was also around in this dream.

The ant, it turned out, was basically an apology for what the colony had done. It was supposed to be our (mostly my) property. The saying that came with it (on some sort of banner) was "Owned for ten years, companion for life." I was like "Woah, I get a giant ant to myself for life? So fucking sweet. Welcome to the family." ^^;; But that's my love of insects for you.

Turns out these ants are slightly different. Unlike our ant species where the only males are the new males that get the new queens pregnant and die right after, the workers in this one were sometimes male. And this male's exoskeleton was also hard instead of squishy... Although the head is hard on most species and I had never pet the rest of him, so maybe the rest of him was properly squishy, then. XP

Anyways, the last bit I can remember is being in my backyard hunting things with him (when I realized I wouldn't be feeding him and he'd be getting food by himself). Oddly, there were things such as a fawn (baby deer), a sick sheep acting like it had mad cow disease (a downer), and other things of wildlife. He went after the baby dear and I'm like "No, no, you can't attack baby animals. Humans will never like you then." So I picked up the rather (little and) terrified fawn and told him to pick a target that wasn't cute and wasn't human. =)) Then a big mean cat (that looked like a very big version of a bobcat) started growling at me and the fawn, ready to pounce, so I said... "You can eat that! ^^"

That's right about when I woke up so I could roll over. =)) I had fun. Damn, that ant was cool, sorta like the one on "Honey, I shrunk the kids" or something like that, but vastly smaller. And this is proof that my dreams are weird as shit, but in a fun way.
