... Gmail, the link you gave me is not FF7 like you thought it was. ... That's a fridge.

In other news, it was Strattera that was fucking me up so badly. I feel NORMAL after just a few days of not taking it. Wow, what a different it makes. I CAN FOCUS ON STUFF.

I used to be on Strattera and it made me really sick. I even got taken off of Adderall because of side effects. I did a report on alternatives to ADHD medication and you'd be amazed at how normal and okay people feel after being taken off of medication.

Hopefully you continue to keep doing well without it. :)

Yeah, Strattera was horrible. =\ It made me to the point where I couldn't focus on anything and would be like exhausted all the time. And had major brain fog and shit. None of the doctors considered that it might be strattera doing it. When I go back to the counselor in the fall, I'll mention what it did to me. He needs to know how shitty it was.

Hmm, I need to start looking at alternatives. None of the counselors/doctors at the counseling center at school are trained in that sort of stuff. It's really frustrating. I've been on medication all my life, and I responded to it enough that we never did any behavioral therapy. BIG MISTAKE, I think.

Also, you're the third I've heard about who's had problems while on Strattera.

Well,I'm about to try Acupuncture, but I do know that behavioral therapy is supposed to be really effective.

If you want,I can email you the info I found while doing my paper. Whether or not you can us it depends on your insurance, but there are a lot of different alternatives to medication.

Counselors and doctors at school probably wouldn't tell you even if they were,to be honest. When I was away at college, they were all trained to believe pills fix everything. I even saw a nearby therapist and because she shares an office with a psychiatrist, she nagged me to take medication even though I told her if she asked me to take meds,I'd stop seeing her.

In the end,you have to be your own advocate, but angry parents are also fairly effective. ;)

Well, the doctors at school are fairly good, actually. The health center is, definitely. She doesn't immediately throw some pill at me and expect me to go away. When we found out just how bad my allergy was to acrylates, she wanted to know MORE, so she could look out for stuff when someone starts having so many problems with allergies. They also diagnosed my broken foot pretty quick.

... but yeah, the counseling center doesn't really have anyone that's focused on ADHD. The doctors at the health center aren't focused on that sort of thing. What I really want is a specialist.

And yeah, I'd be interested in hearing what you have on that! icecreamlightning AT gmail.com

Well,if that's true, then I'm glad. Only one school I went to had a health center. The Art Institute had free counselors, but that was about it.

Well if you have insurance and a mode of transportation, you could always just see a nearby doctor.

Yeah, our health center is really damn good--doctors take you seriously instead of immediately mentioning "oh, you must be suffering from depression". -_- The counselors? Not so much. We're actually trying to get a graduate studies program started in medicine, so that's why they're getting the good doctors. They've got the standard doctor rooms, a pharmacy, a treatment room, a clinic for getting samples (??? cannot remember what that is), and even an x-ray clinic. So yeah, it's a fairly well-funded program.

Heh, I have insurance. Now a mode of transportation is something I don't have concerning that. =( I think most places are serviced by the bus system, though.

=) Thanks--I'll let you know!
