Jan. 26th, 2006 06:19 pmGuess what I just bought. I think it'd be an extremely useful tool for webdesign, especially if you have to throw up a webpage really quick. It's got both the RGB values and the HEX code for all the websafe colors and helps you with compliments and so forth and so on. It'll save time for me, anyways, if I decide to redo my livejournal color scheme.
Also, my website works for me again. Seems like the DNS server is set to cache IP addresses for two weeks before getting new ones. We got the fiber optic connection installed at home exactly two weeks ago today, so there you go. Now that it's fixed, I'm laughing simply because of the thought that no one could access the White House's website for two whole weeks when they had to switch IP addresses in a hurry before they got a denial of service attack. I doubt they've changed the rules much. I shouldn't be too upset, though, if that's the worse thing our network does to us. Some colleges have outages once a week.
Now if only they'd fix that DNS server and have back-ups for e-mail/web/everything else, we'd be in good shape. Our e-mail server went down during exams last semester and screwed a lot of people up. Failed harddrive was the problem. For the amount of money that outage probably cost them, having a RAID drive hooked up would've saved them a ton of money in man hours alone. Always back up your stuff, especially the critical information and systems.

Edit: Also, wtf, this junk mail. I'm only now starting to get junkmail on my VT e-mail, so I think that's pretty good. At any rate... Wtf, man, wtf. *Laughs.* Definitely R-rated, if not NC-17. If you don't want to look at that, just don't click on the LJ-cut. I've left enough space that you shouldn't see it unless you scroll up when you comment. >.>
