Naruto Story Idea?

At any rate! This resulted from a conversation with a friend about what would happen in the future of Naruto, like maybe Sasuke leaves Orochimaru and comes back home. Except a friend stated that it reminded her of a similiar situation in Suikoden, where you thought your best friend Jowy comes back to your side only to stab the City-State leader to death and run off again. So she wondered what would happen if Sasuke came back for less than boyscout worthy reasons. =D Naruto convinces Tsunade and the others that everything's okay, not exactly telling them how they had brawled about 2 1/2 years before.

Of course, we both agreed that Tsunade was unstabbable so that left him going after Naruto. Battle on a rooftop to echo the fight between Orochimaru and the Third. Except the Anbu members are able to interfere. And they go after Sasuke, one of them with blade drawn and aimed for his stomach--

--only to have Naruto jump out in front him at the last second and take the blow in the gut instead. Just like how Sasuke had jumped out in front of Naruto when they were fighting Haku three years earlier.

Except Sasuke had been trying to kill Naruto.

And despite that, Naruto had still protected him.

Naruto glances back at Sasuke, smiling weakly, the blade embedded in his stomach. "Look at what you're doing, idiot...."

Sasuke just stands there, frozen, just as shocked as the Anbu, but entirely more horrified than they could ever be. "Why? Why did you... protect me...?"

Naruto coughs up some blood, his head lolling a little towards his chest. "Because... Because you were my friend."

The Anbu member stumbles back in horror, and Naruto begins to fall backwards. And then Sasuke remembers the fight against Haku, the one where the situations were reversed.

"Look at yourself... You idiot."
"Why?! You protected me..."
"Who...knows..."
*The flood of memories that overwhelmed him at that time come back again.*
"Sasuke! Sasuke! Sasuke!"
"I hated...you."
"Why?! Why?" Why did you protect me...? I didn't ask you to!"
"Who knows... My body moved of my own accord, idiot..."
"Sasuke!"
"That man...I didn't want to die until I killed my brother..." *Raises his hand towards Naruto.* "You... don't die."
And then everything went black.

Naruto had just done the same for him. Except Sasuke had been trying to kill him. The sound of Naruto's body falling to the tile brings Sasuke back to the present. What had he been doing? Why had he betrayed Naruto? How could he have betrayed someone that was capable of giving up his life for a former friend that was trying to kill him.

Had his way been wrong?

Sasuke doesn't know what he's doing, but before he knows it a kunai's in his hand. He doesn't know why he charges at the Anbu that had hit Naruto--revenge, suicide, grief. It's a charge done without Sharigan and without Chidori. Not Sasuke the Uchiha, not Sasuke the former student of Kakashi, but just Sasuke.

He never gets to find out why exactly he did it because he has not even taken five or six steps towards the Anbu when there's a flash-whirl of emotion in front of him, something heavy sinking into his stomach, causing his kunai to fly out of his hands and blood to fly out of his mouth at the force of the blow.

Kakashi's fist. A harder blow than Jiraiya had landed on Naruto to knock him out during his training for the Chuunin exam. Sasuke's face mirrors Naruto's back then as he crumbles over Kakashi's arm, everything going dark and blurry around the edges.

Their teacher is silent as he gathers Naruto up in his arms and slings Sasuke over a shoulder. And then he's gone, to the hospital. Naruto survives thanks to the Nine-Tails, Kakashi somehow convinces Tsunade not to put Sasuke to death. It's kept under wraps. Obviously, Sasuke won't ever be capable of trying a stunt like that again. Not after what Naruto did for him.


Amusing comments here between my friend and I must be recollected. >.>

Me: Kakashi -- "Damn suicidal Uchihas! *SLAM*"
Friend: Haha!!
Me: >.> Still, I like the whole battle thing, Sasuke trying to suicide, and then Kakashi stopping him at the last second. Sort of like how he could've stopped Obito from being killed if he had only gone with him in the first place. Sorta like a redemption thing?
Me: That and the look on Sasuke's face would be absolutely priceless before his world went black. =))
Friend: Yeah.. I like that idea too.
Friend: Haha and yes :X Sasuke: NO WAY
Me: Sorta like how Naruto was when Jiraiya punched him in the gut but more. "Goddamnit I was trying to kill myself here!" But. DENIED.
Friend: And Kakashi just tosses Sasuke over a shoulder and gently gathers the injured Naruto up, ignoring Anbu.
Me: And Naruto finds himself waking up to here that Sasuke's in prison. =\\ And Sasuke's like "Forget me" but Naruto's like "Hell no!" >.> And Naruto smacks him upside the head for being stupid. But, yeah.
Me: Or Naruto could wake up with Sasuke near his bed in shackles. =P Like they don't trust Sasuke yet but Kakashi somehow convinces them to let Sasuke visit Naruto. He won't try to betray Konoha again after something like that.
Friend: HAHA! Oh god.
Friend: Sasuke - I don't know why this bed came with shackles. I don't want to know, actually.
Me: I was thinking in a chair, but, yeah. =P
Friend: HAHA.
Me: Like the shackles are independent of the chair, but he's got them on his hands and feet. Like long hand-cuffs type thing.
Friend: Aww.. Sasuke would just be chilling out, being embarassed, haha.
Me: Well, maybe he'd be embarrassed after he noticed Naruto was awake. LIke before he's awake he's got his hands weaved into each other and trembling a bit. Like the time where Kakashi made them all think they weren't going to be Shinobi. Slumped, head hanging... And then Naruto's like "Sasuke?" XP Then stares as Sasuke jumps up like crazy and stares at him.
Friend: Aah! And christ, what do you say to someone you just betrayed if you immediatly regret the deicison to hurt them??
Friend: Sasuke - They were coming after me. .. You always get in the way.

Me: And then Naruto would be like....

At that point, I started up a random RP storyline with myself. =D Haha. So here it is.

Naruto: "What?? I saved you're life and that's all you're going to say??"
Sasuke: *Hmphs and turns away a little.* "You shouldn't have jumped out in front of me." *Glares to Naruto out of the corner of his eyes.* "You could have died!"
Naruto: *Slow grin as he realizes.* "You were worried, weren't you?"
Sasuke: "Iie! Of course not!" *Looks away from Naruto, trying to keep the pretense up.*
Naruto: "You were, you were!" *Sits up a little.*
Sasuke: "Chigau! And lay back down!" *Glares at Naruto, eyes a little bright, and trying to keep the pretense up!*
Naruto: "I knew it! Ha-HA-OW!" *As he sits up too much, he winces and grabs a the wound, doubling over a little.*
Sasuke: *Stands up quick, clinking of metal against metal as he stretches a little to reach Naruto and push the boy back down onto the bed, gripping Naruto's shoulders in his hands and helping him lie down so he doesn't fall too fast.* "Usuratonkachi!" *Then, gentler.* "Lay down."
Naruto: *Naruto grin, hehe!* "You were worried."
Sasuke: *Says nothing to that, straightening, and moving back to sit into the chair ever so close to Naruto's bed. The clink of metal again.*
Naruto: *Eyes widen a little, traces the sound to a chain hooked to the wall, realizes that Sasuke's ankles are shackled.* "Sasuke...."
Sasuke: "...." *Doesn't say anything, won't meet Naruto's gaze. His hair keeps his face veiled like a curtain.*
Naruto: "... Sasuke..."
Sasuke: "Chigau. I know."
Naruto: *Sighs and glances out the window, watching a few birds fly by. A few minutes pass.*
Sasuke: *Finally, glancing up slightly at Naruto.* "... Sumimasen."
Naruto: *Still staring through the window.* It's okay.
Sasuke: *Nervous sort of worried scowl-frown.* Demo...
Naruto: *Grins, glances back at Sasuke. Naruto smile!* "Don't worry about it. I'll be better in no time!"
Sasuke: *Bristles at the idea that Naruto's interpreting his actions as worry, even if they are or aren't!* "Naruto, be serious for a minute!"
Naruto: *Annoyed pout-shout.* "I am!" *Winces in pain.* "I..Itai..."
Sasuke: *Looks worried for a few moments, but the second Naruto glances to him he hmphs and looks away.* "Baka. That's what you get for being stupid! Lay down."
Naruto: *Grins, but doesn't say anything to that. After they sit in silence for a few minutes.* "Got anything to eat?"
Sasuke: *Small twitch of the lips at that.* "Kakashi went to get ramen."
Naruto: "The two of you've talked?"
Sasuke: *Hesitates, then finally in a subdued voice.* "...Yeah. A little." *Doesn't look up.* "The shackles were his idea. 'The physical manifestation of your guilt' or something." *Sighs.*
Naruto: "Where did he get them?"
Sasuke: *Sardonically, lacing his fingers together and resting his elbows on his thighs, legs spread apart a little with his feet perched up on the bottom rungs of his chair as he sits on the edge of the chair.* "I'd rather not know."
Naruto: *Grins softly.* "... That was almost a joke."
Sasuke: "And if you tell anyone about it, I'll...." *Hesitates, trails off. He can't say it in light of what happened* "I'll...." *Growls, rests the bridge of his knows on the back of his fingers.* "... Damnit."
Naruto: *Watches Sasuke with a pained expression on his face, hand closest to Sasuke resting on the top of his hospital bed sheets.* .... *Thinking: "Sasuke...."*
Kakashi: *Suddenly appears in the room accompanied by a cloud of smoke, calling out loudly.* Raaaamen!
Sasuke: *Jumps nearly a foot, eyes wide!* A-A-Ahhh!! *Half-flail as he overbalances and crashes face-forward off the chair, landing ungracefully at the foot of his former perch.*
Naruto: *Stares. Then starts howling, kicking with his legs and grabbing his stomach.* "AhHAHAHAHAHA!"
Kakashi: "Ara?" *Blinks at Sasuke.*
Sasuke: *Snaps his head up, eyes narrowing as he death-glares to Naruto, embarrassed and angry.* "Chigau! It's not funny!" *Growls as Naruto starts laughing more.* "Chigau!"

Sasuke: "Chigau!" *Continues yelling at Naruto from a rather compromising position, his head even with his knees near the floor, his legs tucked under him so that his backside had first been above the rest of him.* "Chigau!"
Naruto: "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA--Itai!" *Eyes go wide, grips the cloth over his stomach in pain instead of holding his hands to it in laughter, rolls onto his side.* I-Itai....
Sasuke: *All but jumps up and rushes to Naruto's side, grabbing the upper arm Naruto's not laying on in a death-grip.* "Naruto!"
Kakashi: *Frowns, puts down the bag of food as he walks past a table and places his arm around Sasuke's shoulders, resting his hand on the farthest shoulder from himself as he bends over a little to pull Naruto back onto his side.* "You shouldn't move too much."
Naruto: *Weakly.* "...I-Itai..." *Trying to catch his breath, lying painfully on his back.*
Sasuke: *Looking worried, his hands having slid down to grip Naruto's forearm instead. Looks worried, stricken.* "...N-Naruto...?"
Naruto: *Laughs weakly, painfully, and cracks one eye open to glance up at Sasuke.* "Worried?"
Sasuke: *Frowns a little, doesn't say anything.*
Naruto: *Just clenches the hand attached to that forearm into a fist, grinning a bit more.*
Sasuke: *Notices the movement and lets go of the arm as if burned. A bit louder than he means to be.* "I wasn't worried at all!" *As Naruto continues just to grin up at him, and knowing he was caught in his lie before he even said it, makes up for his hesitation to let go of Naruto's arm when Kakashi moved Naruto onto his back by dropping down, slam-sitting into his chair so that it groans noisely. Petulant.* "Hmph!" *Turns his nose up in the air a little, his arms crossed, and perches as before.* "You should learn to not be such a nuisance!" *Eyes narrowed, of course!*
Kakashi: *Eyes soften, shares a smile with Naruto out of the corner of his eye, and takes two steps so he's facing Sasuke, dropping his hand down onto Sasuke's head.*
Sasuke: *Blinks, turning his gaze and then his head to look up at his teacher, looking a bit bewildered.* ...Kakashi...?
Kakashi: *Closed-eyed Kakashi smile.* Welcome home, Sasuke-kun.
Naruto: *Feverently nods, both eyes opened now.*
Sasuke: *Looks from one, then to the other in surprise, shock, and then he flushes a little, scooting back on the chair and pulling his legs back onto the rungs as if curling up into himself a little. Scowling, as if not wanting to admit that he is indeed liking the contact. His lip is ever so slightly put out. Yes, he's pouting, he's really pouting.*
Naruto: *Grin widens.* Hai! Welcome home, Sasuke! *Winces a little as the energetic welcome back made his wound hurt again.* "...Itai..." *It's just a whine, indicating he's all right."
Sasuke: *Looks up with a blink, Kakashi's hand still on his head. Looks surprised, then grins softly.* "Usuratonkachi."
Naruto: *Shares a grin with Kakashi!*
Sasuke: *Half-glowers but with no real feeling at the two of them.* "When can I get these things off?" *Kicks one of his legs out just enough to make the chain rattle. Petulant again.*
Kakashi: *Glances up from handing Naruto the bag of food and blinks to Sasuke as Naruto tears the bag open.* Ara? *Suddenly remembers, another Kakashi grin.* Oh! *Doesn't answer immediately as Sasuke scowls at him, the scowl deepening when Kakashi fishes in his pocket for his book and pulls it out, opening it up to the page he had been reading last.* After the girls come to see you, of course!
Sasuke: !! *Warning bells going off.* N-Nani?!
Ino, Sakura -- *Harmonizing, two as one!* Sasuke-kuuuuuuuuuun!
Sasuke: *Whirls around as far as he can in his chair, puts his hands up in front of him as far out as he can and holds them out frantically. Eyes wide, voice goes up an octave in terror.* I-Iie! Sakura, Ino! *Bowled over in a cloud of smoke!* Get o-offa me!
Naruto: *Has managed to sit up, happily slurping noodles and ignoring Sasuke's struggles on the floor to get away from the girls as they cling, going "Sasuke-kun, Sasuke-kun!"
Sasuke: "Kakashi!" *Desperate enough to reach out for Kakashi, flattened under the two girls.*
Kakashi: *Flips a page in his book.* "I'll let you go when they stop paying me."
Sasuke: "Kakashi!" *Half-choke as Sakura wraps her arms around his neck from behind* "S-Sakura, you're heavy! Yamatte!"
Kakashi: *Flips another page.* "Be a man, Sasuke."
Sakura: *Hearts as she chokes Sasuke again by accident.* Sasuke-kuuun!
Tsunade: *Walks into the room with Shizune and Jiraiya behind her, raises an eyebrow and watches Sasuke struggle to get free from the two girls. Small little 'tch.'* Seems like he's fitting right back in.
Jiraiya: *A bit jealous this never quite happened to him, mutters.* Lucky bastard doesn't know how good he has it.
Ino: "I'll make you a man, Sasuke!"
Sasuke: *Eyes widen, frantic struggles! Desperately!* "Kakashi!" *Reaching out to him.* "Tasukete!"
Kakashi: *Humming softly, turns the next page in his book, Kakashi smile!*
Sasuke: "Kakashiiiiii!" *Struggles with horrified eyes! Continues to be cuddled and hugged and maybe even groped a little to everyone amusement!*

At that point I got bored. =D
