(and you now sometimes at night, when suddenly there's a blackout and the airconditioning shuts off, the entire room is closed down from the outside, doors and windows because of the aircon. the blackout makes everything soooo quiet, i'd be woken up by the ringing in my ears because of the silence being too loud. i wonder if it's related lol.)
Uh, if you're really worried about it, the frequency is too high for some speakers. Try headphones, but don't turn them all the way up to start with. XD
I KNOW, RIGHT? And people actually use it against teenagers to keep them from loitering in front of their stores. :| Well, a similar frequency, anyways.

Or your computer speakers aren't that good. :) Dad also said he could hear it, but only if he turned his speakers all the way up and actually listened for it. If he didn't know to listen, he said he'd never hear it.
People actually use a similar frequency for ring tones in high school, 'cause the older teachers can't hear it.
XD Take it anyways! Just keep your sound low. If you can still hear it, you're good to go, but if you can't hear it, then you know you need to make some changes to protect your hearing immediately. (Or your speakers may not be able to reproduce such a high frequency.)
